I like to make salsa from scratch, but did not have time today and reached for a store bought jar. It was ok, but didn’t taste very fresh so I gave it a boost with a diced avocado, a couple tablespoons of minced red onion, and a little bit of fresh lime. The salsa tasted much better and I was excited about the possibilities of “enhancing” the flavor and nutritional profile of store bought items with a few fresh ingredients.
